so what do we think about this??

Hi to anyone out there who reads my blog... came across this today on a webpage and found it interesting.... love to hear some feedback on whether we think its true or not!

As for a personal update, I have gone back to work part time and absolutely love it! I bring the boys to school, go to work, then pick them up.... it makes the time fly while my DH is off training and I am a geographical single mom....so he can allow me to confirm that #4 and # 10 below are true !!

You may think you know your husband better than anyone, but chances are he has at least one ''don't-tell-the-wife'' secret -- and he may have 11 of them!Men get smarter as they age. While a younger man might think being honest is always the best policy, he quickly learns that some things are best kept secret the first time he confesses to his girlfriend that yes, he was watching that pretty young thing in the bikini wash her car.

Magazine writer and editor Ty Wenger revealed in Redbook what every woman wants to know: What secrets is her husband keeping from her?Although men who tell too many lies and keep too many secrets risk souring a relationship from lack of trust, some of the more innocuous lies are told and secrets are kept to keep the peace. That is the kind of secret Wenger is revealing. And ladies, some of these secrets will melt your heart and make you so happy you married the man you did.11 secrets most men keep, including your husband:
1. Yes, he falls in lust 10 times a day -- but it doesn't mean he wants to leave you.
2. He actually does play golf to get away from you.
3. He is unnerved by the notion of commitment, even after he has made one to you.
4. Earning money makes him feel important.
5. Though he often protests, he actually enjoys fixing things around the house.
6. He likes it when you mother him, but he's terrified that you'll become your mother.
7. Every year he loves you more.
8. He really doesn't understand what you're talking about when you discuss "issues" in your relationship. It makes no sense at all to him -- even though he will nod in agreement and apparent understanding.
9. He is terrified when you drive...... (yeah, I can definitely confirm this one too!!!) so can USAA
10. He'll always wish he was 25 again.
11. Give him an inch and he'll give you a lifetime. Translation: Let him be a dumb guy and play poker with his buddies or go on vacation alone, and he'll love you forever for that."And that's the truth," insists Wegner.

Why Am I Here???

You may have been redirected here to my blog as a result of another websearch, and now you are wondering, why am I here??? Well, chances are that the site you just came from belonged to someone that knows me or a friend of mine, and they are trying to help raise money and awareness for FG Syndrome. I created the "badge" you see above for the FG Syndrome family alliance as part of a contest for sixdegrees.org a foundation created by Kevin Bacon. He is having a big promo in July, and whoever raises the most money for their nonprofit wins $10K from Mr. Bacon himself. So what happens next is up to you, donate, spread the word, add my badge to your site, or perhaps link the badge to your email signature.... whatever you could do would be greatly appreciated. As I type this, I am looking at my beautiful little man who is sleeping so peacefully. He has already overcome so much.... our little warrior! I cannot believe that in a few hours we will be celebrating his 6th birthday..... Thank you to all of our family, friends, our military family, 141, and all of Colin's doctor's. therapists, and teachers that have already come in and out of our lives..... your continued support and love means everything to us....

always,
S

Where did February Go?

This has to be quick, I am such a bad blogger, most likely the reason I was hesitant to do this! February literally went by in a blink. The highlight of course had to be Owen's birthday. He turned 4 and of course I waited until the last minute to plan a party because everyone in the family had been sick with the monster flu bug that was going around, and I (being ever so practical) didn't want to have a big to-do planned... only to have to cancel. Enter my friend Julie to the rescue with the PERFECT LITTLE BOY BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEA...
pay attention parents...Call the firehouse she says, "tell them you are bring x amount of kids and their parents in for a tour... The firemen will show the kids the equipment, get dressed for them, hand out the red plastic firehats, and take them for a ride in the firetruck" 'Shut Up!' I say 'You are my Savior, that is awesome!! how much does it cost?' "Nothing, its free..." 'FREE? Cut it out!' "You'll be the coolest mom" she says. (check that, I get to SAVE MONEY and BE COOL, yeah, I'm in....) The rest was easy.... I went to iParty and picked up Fireman Theme party bags, napkins, plates and a banner thingy... Went to WalMart and got little firetrucks and rescue cars, hot tamales, fireman action figures, etc.... and voila! Party planned in 36 hours. The kids had a blast, the dads even had a blast (they got to go for a ride too) it was great. One of the things I got Owen based on my friend Missy's recommendation was the Fisher Price digital camera.... Another big hit! Owen has been a shutter bug for a year now, and I have a worse for the wear Kodak 6mpx camera to show for it. Now Owen has his own 1 megapixel camera that holds about 70 pictures. The thing is practically indestructable, and the best part is the back of it looks like a viewmaster, so he can look through it w/ both eyes, take his picture, then see what he captured on the little LCD on the back.... Its like Fischer Price read my mind when designing this. (the best $59 I have spent) Here are some photos taken with my camera and when I get Owen to let go of his camera long enough, I will upload some of his. I promise to check in more!! Until then... S
